The Challenge
S&D Lifts was appointed to supply and install a new scenic platform lift for AXA Insurance as part of a wider office refurbishment.
The project required an accessible route between different levels within a relatively compact area. At the same time, the lift needed to complement the refurbished office interior and maintain the light, open character of the workspace.
The challenge was therefore to provide a practical office accessibility solution without introducing a bulky structure or disrupting the surrounding working and breakout areas.
The Scenic Platform Lift Solution
S&D Lifts supplied a 400kg scenic platform lift housed within a glazed self-contained structure.
The lift frame and enclosure were finished in a muted grey tone to complement the office colour palette, while the large glazed panels allowed natural light to pass through the lift shaft and helped maintain open sightlines across the workspace.
Manual swing doors and a compact platform lift layout helped minimise the overall footprint, making the solution suitable for the restricted area available.
The lift was also fitted with a GSM autodialler, providing an emergency communication connection for users.
The Result
The completed scenic platform lift installation provides AXA Insurance with reliable step-free access between levels while integrating naturally into the refurbished office environment.
The glazed enclosure helps preserve light and sightlines throughout the workspace, while the muted grey finish complements the surrounding interior design.
Its compact footprint also allows the nearby work and breakout areas to remain fully usable, resulting in an accessible lift solution that feels integrated into the space rather than added as an afterthought.
