Low Headroom Dumbwaiter Lifts

The low headroom dumbwaiter lifts from S&D Lifts are intended for buildings where the headroom on the upper floor is insufficient to accommodate a conventional top drive lift. Our bottom-drive system solves this problem.

Low Headroom Dumbwaiter lift Installation

Designed to maximize efficiency and functionality, our low-headroom dumbwaiter lift is ideal for various settings, including restaurants, hotels, and residential buildings, where space optimization is essential without compromising performance.

– Wide range of car sizes and orientations
– Bottom-drive system to accommodate minimal headroom
– Self-contained motor situated beneath lower door
– 5-week lead time
– Three-phase or single-phase
– Heated car option
– Varied capacities and lift speeds

Our low-headroom dumbwaiter lift is a service lift with a difference: the double chain drive has the winding unit placed at the bottom of the lift shaft, under the car, in a separate machine area. This enables it to be installed in locations where there isn’t enough headroom to fit a conventional service lift.

The access door to this lift is normally located under the serving sill. The lift occupies the same shaft plan size as a conventional top drive lift system – the only difference is that the sill height at the bottom floor has to be a minimum of 900mm.

We can supply different finishes for the lift car and landing door that suit any environment or requirement. This includes graded stainless steel suitable for food hygiene or chemical applications, or marine-grade stainless steel.

We can also supply painted finishes, which are more suitable for domestic applications, enabling the lift to blend seamlessly with its surroundings.

The load capacity for a low-headroom dumbwaiter lift can vary, just as it varies for a conventional dumbwaiter. Typically, low-headroom service lifts carry up to 100kg. Once we know your planned use for the lift, we can advise on the best size and specifications for your situation.

Yes, all our low-headroom dumbwaiter lifts come with a 12-month parts and labour warranty, so you have peace of mind in knowing that we’ll cover any necessary repairs within this initial period. We also provide extended warranties for those who want them.

The maintenance requirements for a low-headroom service lift are similar to those of any other dumbwaiter. Our service lifts are durable and built to operate frequently with very little maintenance required. We typically recommend two maintenance visits per year for us to inspect your lift and write up a health report. We’ll make any minor repairs or carry out any necessary servicing tasks as we see fit.
