The Challenge
We were approached by our client on this project to supply and fit a pair of scenic platform
Lifts within a new office development in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The Lift
The Lifts that we installed within this project were a pair of Altura platinum platform lifts
fitted within their own self, supporting glazed structure. Supplying the lift within its own
framework, not only minimised the amount of associated building works, it also kept the
shaft footprint to a minimum. In doing so, light is able to pass through the lift shaft, allowing
it to become part of the building.
The lift came with a separate control panel and pump unit, these were located within a few
metres of the lift shaft.
The Result
As you can see from the pictures, the result is quite impressive. The lift blends in perfectly
with its surroundings, providing essential access to the upper levels of the new office building
and creating a seamless addition to the office space.
